FOG Warning

Festive FOG is the worst kind! Gravy, turkey grease, goose fat from roast potatoes, festive fry-ups and more will be blocking pipes and drains this Christmas.

Kitchens can avoid Christmas fatbergs ruining their “season to be jolly” by taking FOG precautions – it’s better to be safe than sorry. At the start of the year we were proud to provide background information and guidance for the British Water – FOG Forum Guide & Code of Practice. This FOG Forum Code of Practice has been developed to help designers and installers of catering equipment understand the legal obligations, the site issues and to compare the different options to prevent, reduce and treat the discharge of FOG from food service kitchens. It also provides guidance to operators

on how they should effectively manage fats, oils and grease in their kitchens.
