Every year, instead of sending Christmas Cards, we choose to donate to good causes, and this year we’ve chosen two: Hospitality Action and The Burnt Chef Project.
The work that both of these do is absolutely invaluable for people who work in foodservice and hospitality, particularly so these past 3 years!
From back of house staff, to general management, from front of house staff to housekeepers; they’re here to listen and help anyone struggling.
How they help…
Hospitality Action
Hospitality Action offers a crucial lifeline to those within, and retired from, the hospitality industry. Whatever challenge individuals are facing, whether it’s physical illness, mental health, financial difficulties, relationship problems, or addiction, they can provide help and advice. Since 2020 they’ve answered 26,809 helpline calls, provided 6,753 counselling sessions, awarded 10,000 hardship grants and given 1049 winter fuel grants… to name a few!

The Burnt Chef Project
The Burnt Chef Project has a clear goal: to eradicate mental health stigma within hospitality. To do this, they conduct research to highlight the problem areas, they educate teams on mental health awareness, they raise awareness, they work with the industry to change the culture, and ultimately, they work with people to improve their mental health! So far, they’ve trained 56 colleges in stress management, and provided 4,398+ people with free mental health support (among many other things!).
