Serving Up Success at The Clink

The Clink restaurant in Cardiff has been voted one of the top ten establishments in which to dine in the UK. The charity-run restaurant is based within the grounds of the Category B men’s Cardiff Prison. All food is served by prisoners training towards City and Guilds NVQs. Not only does the food and service get a 5 star rating on TripAdvisor, reoffending results are said to have fallen since the restaurant opened two years ago.

Mechline is proud to have assisted The Clink and would like to congratulate the restaurant on its success. Peter Galliford, Director at Mechline; “Mechline provided numerous items to the project at significantly reduced rates and we were able to supply complimentary equipment to support the scheme. We were very pleased to help out.”

The Sustainable Restaurant Awards were launched in 2011, winners will be announced by chef Raymond Blanc on 23rd February 2016. Past winners have included River Cottage, Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, The Savoy, Wahaca and Feng Sushi.
