Mechline Cycles To Work

Since the first Cycle to Work Day event in 2013, over 1 million miles have been pledged by cycle commuters. The event has grown significantly every year, with just under half a million miles pledged by riders in 2015 alone.

This year over 850 employers in the country pledged their support for the campaign, one of them being Mechline Developments. Staff who cycled into work were rewarded with a hero’s breakfast. Those who, for safety reasons weren’t able to cycle in, had the opportunity to take to an exercise bike in the office and cycle their miles in the safety of Mechline HQ.

Annie Tillson, Human Resources Manager at Mechline; ‘At Mechline we offer all staff the opportunity to participate in a cycle to work scheme. Being based in Milton Keynes were are fortunate to have access to a huge network of cycle paths (redways) to help keep our riders safe away from the roads. We have regular cyclists who come in from local estates as well as towns and villages nearby. The Cycle to Work Day encouraged those who don’t normally cycle to take part, some have surprised themselves and will be cycling to work again.’

Mechline achieved a whopping 195 miles on Cycle to Work Day, saving carbon and burning calories. Find out more about Cycle to Work Day.
