Mechline proud supporters of The Clink Café in Manchester
Mechline is proud to have supported The Clink Charity, who offer culinary training and employment to prisoners, ex-offenders and the homeless, with provisions for their new restaurant in Manchester. The new Café, which is the charity’s first site away from prison grounds, opened earlier this week with Mechline’s GreasePak, AquaTechnix, BaSix and CaterZap products installed. Located in the grade II listed Canada House on Chepstow Street in Manchester, the café will provide jobs and further training to former prisoners, as well as help homeless people off the streets.
With four restaurants already on the go (as well as a horticultural scheme and 1 event caterer) The Clink Charity has seen 800 prisoners graduate from its schemes, which have the sole aim of reducing re-offending rates of ex-offenders and helping graduates find employment on release – both of which have proven very successful. The new café will offer a vital opportunity for graduates to achieve their full potential, and for Mechline it has been a pleasure to have played a very small part in this great venture.
