Do the M701 models plug into a high level switched socket or are they to be hard wired into a 13A switched fused spur at high level?

The M701 units are fitted with a 3-pin plug, so they can be plugged into standard UK electrical sockets, or the plug can be removed for wiring into a switched fused spur.

Can fly killers, including the M701 models, be run from an electrical generator?

No. This will damage fly killers, including the M701, and will invalidate the warranty.
